The founder of Growth House, Tobi Okunuga early today took up his social media handle to share law of preemininece stating that, people are not interested in what you claim you can do but show them a prove of what you’ve done.
THE LAW OF PREEMINENCE
I was at a startup event yesterday at the Co-working space I work from. Shout out to McIver Tunde , the CEO of MusterPoint For putting together a very successful networking event.
A lot of startup entrepreneurs turned up so there was a session when we all had to pitch what we do to garner possible deals and partnership amongst ourselves.
I quickly found out that there was quite a number of digital marketing consultants who do exactly what I do.
So it was my turn to talk about what I do, I knew I had to outperform these people any way I can. But how?
Immediately it dawned on me that I had to DOMINATE and not COMPETE.
At the end of the day, 2 deals got sealed and 3 other possible partnerships. How? I established preeminence within 2 minutes.
– People are not interested in what you claim you can do, show them a proof of what you have done and how you can help them get results
– Create content around what you do and give people in your target market for free – an ebook or video. ( the other people don’t have this)
The atmosphere changed for me when I implemented the above and you can use it to create attention for yourself every time.
Has anyone used this tactic before at networking events?
